GA Dems say they will knock on doors ahead of January run off
POLITICO
So, what did we take from the 2020 election? That door knock IS or ISN’T worth it? Trump was certainly closer in states that had him trailing consistently where he knocked on doors during COVID and Biden didn’t. But, by and large, Biden did win those states?
Was that unique to Trump? Or is the reality that elections are won on TV, Facebook and Twitter?

Here’s the thing about Trump 2024:
If Biden has a terrible 4 years, Trump gets back in.
If Biden has a good 4 years, or even an OK 4 years, Trump doesn’t get back in.
But here’s the kicker. If Trump starts campaigning now, and campaigns for the next 4 years... the media wont report on Biden having a terrible 4 years, they’ll be too busy reacting to the latest Trump nonsense.
So, conclusion, Trump campaigning now would probably be the worst thing he could possibly do.
...So he’ll probably start campaigning now. - SCALE
Honestly, the best commentary in this newsletter is in the feedback. Bravo.

Could Big Chungus skip out on the inauguration and hold counter programming with the first 2024 campaign rally? If not, it’s absolutely the following day. - DAVE
Nothing will out program the inauguration. But an event the day after?

Trump will hint 2024 not before and not after the inauguration. He will do it during the inauguration. I think he meets with Biden at the White House, then Biden heads for the capital and Trump heads for AF1 (that is normal right?). With AF1 as a background, while Biden is outside the capital, Trump does his non-committal announcement. -SEAN

Currently your "free political newsletter" has a blurb at the bottom saying "for the full experience, become a paying subscriber". Not sure if that's the look you're looking for. Also, as a Patron I have to say I'm not super stoked about the idea of having to pay multiple places for your content. Seems kinda odd. - MATT
That must be something that auto-populates at the bottom of the email. Thanks for the heads up I will see if I can change it. If people would LIKE to pay me money for the daily newsletter, I obviously welcome it. Substack is a platform built to make that easy, but THIS version will be free. In fact, it’s far more likely that I just stop doing it before trying to put a paywall in front of it.
That being said I do already have multiple places where people can pay me money for my content. Patreon is for the podcast, the rewards are built around getting bonus content. Twitch is for livestreaming, the rewards are built around the live chat experience.
Do I wish that I could combine things into a mega bundle?
But I can’t because I don’t own those platforms.
Best I can do? Not replicate the bonus stuff and cater to each platform with specific rewards.
To repeat: IF I DO EXCLUSIVE CONTENT (AND I DON’T HAVE FIRM PLANS NOW) ON THIS NEWSLETTER IT WILL NOT BE A PAYWALL ON THIS EMAIL.

Really appreciate all the coverage you (and Heaton and others) have provided. But I feel like I may have consumed too much politics over the past 4 years and it's infesting my every thought. Not that I'm raging at anyone, and can't even...
But I was playing through the opening quests of the latest World of Warcraft expansion Shadowlands last night and found myself talking back to the NPCs in a snarky manner like some Twitch streamer due to all their politicalization of the quest lines. It's not that I think Blizzard is being political. But when I arrived at the new city and they say "Mortal, what is your kind doing here?". "You can set up your portals, but do it outside the city". All I can think about is immigration, gentrification, and NIMBY syndrome.
And also the grammar of referring to my character with a plural pronoun when they clearly know my gender which I picked (and can now freely change) drives me nuts, grammatically speaking.
I'll keep listening and watching, but I will be glad to not have to think about this stuff every day. - MATT

I believe you're misrepresenting the GSA statement. Doesn't actually have anything to do with the vote certification or strictly speaking the constitutional election process.
The most interesting piece of the GSA release to me is that now under the Presidential Transition Enhancement Act of 2019 if Biden requests support from the GSA he is required to disclose any potential foreign conflicts of interest for ALL transition team members (see the note about "reporting requirements" under Section 6 in the above screenshot). Interpret that information as you will.
Just trying to peek behind the curtain of a "news" media trying desperately to compete with Game of Thrones. And shit I cannot wait for the finale. - BRENDAN
I think YOU’RE misrepresenting my misrepresentation, good sir!
If I wrote, or implied, that the GSA is related in any way to the certification of the votes then I apologize. The GSA move was more to me a signal that Trump was preparing to move on. Of course, this comes in concert with the vote certifications and the lack of momentum from the legal challenges thus far.
In all honesty, there is a time-sensitivity to this stuff and the Trump team is just too slow on the draw. By this point they needed to have identified where they needed to fight and begun drawing blood. Considering they’d need to do so in so many states, it seems to this humble Barking Dog on The Internet that it’s a bridge too far.
Trump won’t be the first president to play to the whistle. Hell, he won’t be the first to think he got cheated. But I do believe the sun rises on this stuff no matter how hard you wish it wouldn’t and the GSA move was a beginning of acceptance.
