Fauci says you’re probably going to be wearing a mask until 2022.
I live a fairly small life. I worked from home before the pandemic so the year since has been annoying not because my day is much different but rather because I can’t spend my free time the way I used to.
For me, wearing a mask is a minor inconvenience. It’s a way to not creep people out if I’m on the street. Also, I get to feel whatever small sense of satisfaction about contributing to a larger goal.
It helps that every once in a while our nation went through a COVID spike that put the disease front and center. A reminder on why things are so abnormal.
But there is a ticking clock on that last part. Cases have fallen dramatically in the last few weeks, vaccines are being distributed briskly and for once the medical news has been good.
Dr. Anthony Fauci became a relatable voice in world of panic last year for those looking for one. But I have to wonder about how much people will want to adapt to abnormal behavior once cases are low and deaths are lower.
Will we have have some mask wearing through 2021 and beyond? Of course.
Will it be the norm if the virus is in a much more manageable position? I doubt it.

Yep, just a normal thing for any average Texas 12 year old to do, fly off to Cancun because a historic blizzard is just a long snow day. Ted better not say the word “elite” ever again. But sadly he’ll still probably win when people forget all this in four years because the blue button on the voting machine will bring over illegal immigrants specifically to confiscate their guns. - RICHARD
The question I have for anyone on the “vote him out!” train is: wasn’t he going to have to leave the Senate to run for president anyway? He can’t run for both.

I may not respond much for a while.
I had to go off one of my anti-anxiety meds ‘cause they don’t make ‘em any more. Been taking them for 20 years.
Shrink says it’ll take a month or so to tell if I need replacement meds. She says in the meantime I’ll likely be in a weird place.
I don’t feel much different but the wife says I’m grumpier than I used to be.
So instead of pointing out how unhinged I think some members of this group are I think I'll hold off for a while.

JOHN's take on cancel culture is: "Don’t act in a way that pisses people off unless you have enough individual power to weather the storm."
I think he made one mistake - he typed 'people' when he meant to type 'the self-appointed liberal elite'.
