Here is what I learned from the Sunday shows…
Standoff with Colombia
In a rapidly evolving situation, Donald Trump has escalated tensions with Colombia, issuing a 25% tariff on Colombian goods after its president, Gustavo Petro, refused to accept deported migrants via U.S. military aircraft. Shortly after, Petro agreed to the deportations but requested the use of his presidential plane for a "dignified transfer."
The Return of Deportation Raids
Tom Homan, America’s new "border czar," outlined the Trump administration's heightened deportation efforts in an interview with ABC’s This Week. Homan described the use of "collateral arrests," particularly in sanctuary cities, while emphasizing plans to expand deportation numbers. The administration has also revoked prior restrictions on ICE agents, granting them access to sensitive locations such as schools and churches. Critics warn of potential backlash as public empathy may shift against these tactics.
This will go bad. We don’t know when but it will.
